I recently was able to find tutorials and examples for lighting in renderman that I was able to test, which was very helpful due to my inexperience in lighting compared to other aspects of the 3D workflow. Here are the results of my test with and without the use of a PxrVolume atmosphere, which will hopefully help me achieve the look I am going for.
The rays of light coming through the window was the result I was hoping to achieve so I am happy with this small exercise to become more familiar with the lighting methods.
